Our Loch Ken Ranger Service Summer 2023 Education Sessions launched on Monday, and what a fantastic start it has been
We have welcomed Springholm Primary 1/2 and 3/4/5 to the shores of Loch Ken where our Ranger Leanne Pumpr has led on some engaging activities on caring for our wonderful environment.
The activities focus on responsible access and camping, leaving no trace and the dangers of wildfires and cold water shock.
It has been really great to see the children genuinely inspired and having a great time outdoors.
The sessions were designed by students from Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) and our Loch Ken Ranger Leanne Pumpr.
Springholm Primary Parent Council received a grant for these sessions from Blackcraig Wind Farm Community Fund, administered by Foundation Scotland.
Drax Group UK are funding transport for the local schools to visit later this month.
We are passionate about educating the future generations on how to care for our natural world, and enjoy it responsibly. We are looking forward to hosting more schools later this month.
