

We are excited to be holding our annual Loch Ken Family Fun Day on
Tuesday 12th August
11am-3pm
Parton (field next to Loch Ken Holiday Park)

Lots of activities and fun for all the family!
Join us for a day of family fun and learning how to stay safe on and around the UNESCO Biosphere’s rivers, lochs and coast. There will be loads to do for all ages including rescue demonstrations, nature activities, kids funfair and local catering available, with the chance to meet local branches of the emergency services and your community ranger service.
The Trust will be running a free bus service to and from the event with Galloway Community Transport, leaving Market Street Car Park, Castle Douglas at the following times:
10:30am/11:30am/12:30pm/1:30pm
Returning from Parton at 1pm/2pm/3pm
Note If last bus is full there is also the 520 service leaving Parton at 3:12pm and 4:20pm
There will be free rafted water canoe trips and mini water safety sessions ran by instructors at the Galloway Activity Centre- drop in on the day to sign up, and Swim Queens wild swimming group will also be attending.
The event takes place in the village of Parton (in the field next to Loch Ken Holiday Park) between 11am-3pm on Tuesday 12th August 2025
