Our friends at Galloway Fisheries Trust are currently undertaking a Loch Ken Water Quality Study, thanks to funding received from Inspiring Scotland. Recently we held a successful community water sampling event at the Ken Bridge. Alyx and Emilie from Galloway Fisheries Trust demonstrated the water sampling process and explained the difference in two water samples taken from opposite sides of Loch Ken
It is interesting what the present aquatic invertebrates and the use of a sonde can tell us about the water quality.
Samples are being taken from various different sites on Loch Ken and during varying water levels.
